LOUIS XVI A115

This exemplary French designed and sized Transition wedding armoire, (Rococo/Louis XVI), is a piece for connoisseurs and collectors. Its uniquely executed relief woodcarvings make it a "Masterpiece of Applied Arts". Please enlarge especially the big sized detail pictures of the nudes and study the detail quality of the muscles on legs, arms, chest as well as the faces and fingers of the male nude which verify the sculptors education in anatomy and qualify him as a first rate artist. Keep in mind, his material was solid French stone - pine wood. Top, socle-drawer and doors are paneled and rocaille motifs, flowers, leaves, branches, palmettes and slip knots are added to the nudes. Original large iron hinges, lock, key, catch, pulls and key plates.
