Exemplary North German Biedermeier fall-front secretaire (may be used as a standing desk and lectern). Crotch mahogany on pine in book match pattern. Architecturally designed with free-standing columns, stepped top with the Schinkel pediment, arched door. Fitted interior with drawers, temple with mirrors, parquetry floor with poplar root veneer, stained woods and maple. All columns (8 inside, 2 outside) with original fine French bronzes. Outstandingly refined secret compartments system.
